Quedgeley-based Prima Dental Group has joined forces with Gloucester-Hartpury Women’s RFC in a community focussed collaboration.
The world’s largest dental bur (drill) manufacturer, and one of the region’s biggest exporters, has signed a sponsorship deal with the 2023 Rugby Premiership champions and this season’s currently unbeaten team. The partnership sees a focus on supporting local community initiatives, including access to Gloucester-Hartpury Rugby camps for girls of all abilities aged 7 to 16 in Gloucestershire.
“We’re delighted to have teamed up with Gloucester-Hartpury Women’s RFC and to be able to create more opportunities for young girls to acquire life skills through the enjoyment of rugby,” comments Dan Hodgson, chief commercial officer, Prima Dental Group.
“Manufacturing and engineering draws an interesting parallel to rugby and we’re keen to challenge social stereotypes and perceptions around male bias. Beyond that, we also want to celebrate the parrelels between them, highlighting the shared requirements for success: determination, resilience, training, commitment, and on occasion, for the ball to bounce your way!
“As a significant local employer, we are dedicated to fostering skills development in the area. Through regional recruitment and implementing a comprehensive educational outreach program, the aim is to inspire individuals to contemplate pursuing a career in engineering. Our community work is key in supporting this – creating awareness and building positive perceptions to drive engagement.”
“Prima is a fantastic business for us to be in partnership with,” adds James Forrester, CEO at Gloucester-Hartpury Rugby. “It is great to see that it shares our vision for both the Club, women’s rugby and the Gloucester community.”
