The purpose of the role is to support the improvement of existing products and the development of new products and markets through the development and testing of new products using 3, 5 & 6 axis CNC machines in in support of the Company’s overall goals for the delivery of cost effective, high quality products and excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Head of R&I, create and test prototype products, reporting on findings
  • Support the transfer of new products to production
  • Recommend and evaluate technologies which may add value to the Company
  • Continuously improve existing methods and processes


Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 6 (Degree / NVQ 4) qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Demonstrable recent experience of CNC tool grinding
  • Proven ability to create solutions
  • Strong IT skills (MS Office suite)
  • Experience of the cutting tool industry and/or a research environment is an advantage
  • CAD drawing skills and experience of working with testing equipment are an advantage
