Richard Muller, group managing director of Gloucestershire-based Prima Dental, has won a prestigious award from the British Dental Industry Association (BDIA) in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the dental industry.

Singled out for his remarkable impact on the dental sector and recognising his dedication and innovation in his field, Richard was awarded a coveted British Dental Industry Association Award. This prestigious accolade, which is only awarded to one person each year, was presented to Richard at the recent awards gala event hosted by the British Dental Association (BDA) in Manchester.

With a degree in Business, Richard Muller has dedicated over 30 years to dentistry in a successful career spanning dental engineering, manufacturing and export. Richard took the helm at Prima Dental in 1998 and under his stewardship the company has grown to become one of the world’s largest dental bur manufacturers, employing over 200 staff at its production base in Quedgeley in Gloucester. It is a winner of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade, reflecting its focus on quality and innovation as the hallmarks of dental manufacturing.

Richard commented on his award: “I am delighted to receive this award and it is an honour to be recognised by my industry in this way. I feel so fortunate to be working in a sector that never fails to interest and challenge me and I also feel incredibly lucky to be supported by such a great team at Prima Dental.”

Today Richard is pioneering new technologies in digital dentistry with the team at Prima Dental and continues to champion the quality of UK dental engineering around the world. He recently oversaw the successful launch of Prima Dental in India and Brazil, which saw Prima Dental become the very first dental bur manufacturer in South America.
